totally different than the rest of the hoax albums in that this was recorded professionally by Ian from Deimos records to capture the live sound we were achieving with the classic hoax line up of brad on bass and mateo on drums. a rewarding experiment in collaboration, and a good document of one of the greatest live line ups I've ever had the privilege of being a part of. Mateo and brad are a creative and hard hitting rhythm section. Good times in the bay area. I was hoping to make a glossy, poppy, concise version of the hoax's music with this album, and I think we succeeded in something else.

Only recording of a song called "forever mia" which I wrote in the first few months I lived in california inspired by a store in Orland, CA. Ring Ring Ring was written around the same time and is about the feeling of fleeing your home in search of a new one. Matt really brings the heat on both of these, particularly forever mia which he created a definitive intro for and really re-worked the entire song from behind the drum kit.

Only place to hear "We've Got Rats" a song that written back in Anchorage Alaska and was a live mainstay of the Moon Knights later period around 2009/10. Also "skin" was a moon knights song written, but the hoax had such a good arrangement of it, and we were able to get Lourdes to sing it on this album...

The rest of the songs appear as solo recordings on the various demos I made at OMC during this period in Oakland.
